Getting To Know The 2014 Victoria's Secret Angels
They’re some of the most recognizable women on the planet, and many can be linked to even more recognizable names and brands like the band Kings of Leon and the NBA. Yes, the Victoria’s Secret Angels are easily the most gorgeous people on this planet, and hailing from all corners of the planet, the Angels reflect beauty from the United States to South Africa and beyond. But many forget the hard work these women put in to be on stage walking while performers like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and Hozier perform around them.
Keeping all eyes on you is no easy task, so before they put on those wings at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT, why not get to know a few of the most stunning women the world has ever seen.
Candice Swanepoel
Born and raised in Mooi River, South Africa, 26 year-old Candice Swanepoel wouldn’t be the face of "The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show" if it weren’t for being spotted by a model scout in a Durban mall at age 16. Since then, Swanepoel has climbed the modeling ladder to become number 10 on Forbes’ “The World’s Top-Earning Models” list. Modeling for companies and designers like Nike, Tom Ford, Swarovski, Miu Miu, and Ralph Lauren, Swanepoel made a name for herself. It was only a matter of time before she became the first ever South African Victoria’s Secret Angel when she landed to position in 2010.
Adriana Lima
The 33 year-old Brazilian bombshell Adriana Lima has been gracing "The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show" since 2000, placing her in the same ranks as Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum and Gisele Bundchen. Her appearance in Guess campaigns in the 2000's eventually garnered her enough recognition and attention to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel and enough money to be the fourth highest earning supermodel on Forbes’ list. With that, Lima has definitely proved that she deserved to wear the famous Fantasy Bra in 2008 and 2010 and for a thrid time in this year's show.
Lily Aldridge
An all-American model, 29 year-old Lily Aldridge has had an extensive modeling career that began at age 16 with work for Abercrombie & Fitch. Aldridge’s modeling has taken her to magazines like Glamour, Cosmoplitan and V before walking in her first Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2009. A year later, Aldridge was engaged to Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill, and a year after that, the couple married in 2011. Even more recently, Aldridge posed with John Legend's wife Chrissy Tiegen and model Nina Agdal for the 50th anniversary edition of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. It's safe to say that Lily Aldridge isn't going anywhere.
