George Karl: 'It Was A Hell Of A Rodeo'

Former Sacramento Kings head coach George Karl joined the Gio & Jones Show on CBS Sports Radio this morning and gave his reaction to what Rajon Rondo had to say about the Kings locker room.

Rondo joined ESPN's The Jump on Monday and was asked about his time in Sacramento last season.

"There was too much tension," Rondo said. "I have never witnessed or experience a thing like that in my 10-year career."

Rondo went on to talk about how the players in the locker room "didn't sacrifice for one another."

"There were too many distractions on and off the court. The organization as a whole, I don't think was together completely," Rondo said. "I think as a team you have to want the best for the next man beside you, and that wasn't the case with the Sacramento Kings."

When Karl was asked about his reaction to Rondo's statements, the former Kings head coach skipped around the question like a good politician.

"Well, Rajon is a very smart basketball player," Karl said. "I think (they) should probably get him on there to let him talk that out."

Karl was adamant about keeping things in the past, but admitted his time in Sacramento was "a hell of a rodeo.

Although his time in Sacramento wasn't the greatest, Karl hopes the best for the organization.

He doesn't see this as being the end of his career. Karl still hopes for another shot coaching a winning team.

"I don't want to walk out of my career on a losing season," Karl said. "I'd like to have a chance to play in the playoffs and be a part of a team that maybe has a hope and a dream of winning a championship. I'll cross my fingers and cross my legs and hopefully I'll get lucky."
