Garrido Promises 'Report' In Statement

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. (CBS13) – The convicted kidnapper of Jaycee Lee Dugard isn't staying quiet after being sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison last week.

Media outlets have been requesting interviews with Phillip Garrido since the day he was arrested after holding Dugard captive for nearly two decades at his Antioch home, and while he still isn't granting face-to-face interviews, he released a statement to the media Tuesday through his lawyer, Susan Gellman.

"I plan to put all of this in a report so I can corroborate the information for you. You will be able to use the information in your investigation sometime in the future," said Garrido.

Garrido offered no details about the subject of the report.

Before his arrest, Garrido tried to contact law enforcement agencies to report what he called a "gift" that gave him spiritual revelations.

Jaycee Lee Dugard told Phillip and Nancy Garrido they "do not matter anymore" in a statement at their sentencing and said she "hated every second of every day of 18 years because of you."

Dugard will release a memoir detailing her time in the Garridos' captivity next month.
