Fremont Company To Build Campus In Elk Grove, Bringing New 2,500 Jobs
ELK GROVE (CBS13) - A new manufacturing facility is expected to bring thousands of new jobs to Elk Grove.
Mayor Gary Davis announced on Friday that Elk Grove and Fremont-based company NRC Manufacturing had reached an agreement to build a campus in the city. The company manufactures electronics components.
Davis says the NRC Manufacturing campus, which is expected to be about 230,000 square feet, will be located in the so-called Southeast Policy Area of Elk Grove - near area also known for the unfinished mall now being planned as an outlet mall.
"This is a game changer for Elk Grove," Mayor Davis said in a statement. "This project confirms the Council's commitment to growing our business and employment base and driving economic development forward."
Up to 2,500 people are expected to be employed at the facility.
The facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2017, according to the City of Elk Grove.
