Four Teens Escape NorCal Detention Facility

BYRON, Contra Costa County (CBS SF) — Four juveniles escaped from the Byron Boys Ranch, a youth detention center in Contra Costa County on Monday and one of the teens is considered dangerous, according to sheriff's officials.

Sheriff's authorities are advising residents in the Byron and Discovery Bay areas to take shelter in the nearest place of safety. Residents are urged to stay indoors and lock their doors and windows.

Law enforcement officials are searching for four teens. The first boy is described as a 15-year-old black boy. He is 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 300 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is considered mentally challenged, sheriff's officials said.

The second suspect is described as a 14-year-old Hispanic boy with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet tall and weighs 110 pounds.

Sheriff's officials are also searching for a black 15-year-old boy with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.

The final suspect is a Hispanic 14-year-old boy with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet tall and weighs 125 pounds.

Sheriff's officials are advising the public to stay indoors until 5 a.m. unless other instructions are issued.
