Four Fire Fighters Hurt In Four-Alarm San Francisco Fire

SAN FRANCISO (KCBS) –Four firefighters were injured while battling a four-alarm fire in San Francisco's Mission District.

More than a hundred firefighters were on the scene at the corner of Duboce and Valencia streets. The fire appeared to have started in an multi-story apartment building above Ernie's Liquor & Delicatessen.

The four firefighters were injured when a staircase collapsed inside the apartment building. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

One resident was also injured during the fire.

The San Francisco Fire Department reports the blaze started shortly before 10 a.m.

One of the two buildings was a total loss.
