Former Jesuit Teacher Facing Abuse Allegation
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A priest and former teacher at a local catholic high school is now facing allegations of abuse.
Jesuit High School officials did confirm with CBS13 that the Rev. William Feeser is being accused of sexual misconduct.
"This is something that is not tolerated by Jesuit High School," said school Director of Communications Jordan Blair, "and it's not something that we condone in any way."
School officials sent a letter about the abuse allegations to thousands of students and alumni. Father Feeser, a former teacher at Jesuit, is being accused of abusing his priestly influence.
He taught at Jesuit from 1982 to 1995. "At his capacity at Jesuit he taught theology and was a chaplain to the yearbook," Blair said.
But the allegation apparently happened way before his employment at Jesuit. It allegedly took place while serving in the ministry at Our Lady of Assumption in Carmichael.
According to published reports, the victim who now lives in Southern California was allegedly molested while attending this church more than three decades ago.
Since then Feeser has worked at numerous parishes and churches in the area. Once the allegation was brought to light, the Diocese of Sacramento suspended Father Feeser.
But the organization SNAP, survivors network of those abused by priests, says the diocese didn't act soon enough.
"We just think it's business as usual," one of their members said. "They are just dragging their feet as they have in the past."
Jesuit officials say they are cooperating with law enforcement and encourage any potential victims to contact investigators immediately.
