Forecast: Chance Of Valley Rain Saturday
Saturday holds the best chance of much-needed rain falling in the Sacramento area.
Unlike Wednesday, our morning was fog free, due to clouds in the upper levels of the atmosphere that kept temperatures a little warmer than they were on Wednesday.
Valley temperatures on Thursday morning are about 2-7 degrees milder than they were 24 hours ago.
Breezes are coming from the south at 5-10 miles per hour. This afternoon winds will shift and come from the north and northwest at about 10-20 miles per hour.
We're on the southern edge of storm system that brought us clouds, but won't bring any rain. The cloud cover will leave this afternoon.
Another system, which arrives this weekend, will bring a slight chance of rain to the area.
Friday will be sunny, and then at around 7 a.m. Saturday, rain will come to the valley, bringing only a few hundredths of an inch. The Foothills could see .25-inch rain totals midday Saturday. Areas above 5,000 feet could see five inches or more of snow. This could mean some chain restrictions on the roadways.
Expect high temperatures in the low 60s in the valley and high 50s in the foothills.
We'll be drying out pretty quickly by Sunday and will begin a warming trend again next week.
