Sacramento man arrested in investigation into armed robbery at Folsom movie theater
FOLSOM – A Sacramento man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that forced a Folsom movie theater to be evacuated in late December, police said.
On Dec. 29, police received a report that a woman had been robbed at gunpoint in the Palladio 16 Cinema theater in Folsom around 9 p.m.
Police said the suspect threatened the woman, saying he had a gun and that he had people watching her in the movie theater. The movie theater was then evacuated and officers said the suspect took off from the scene by stealing the victim's car.
The stolen vehicle was later located on the 4000 block of Mascot Avenue in Sacramento.
During the investigation, the Folsom Police Department said it was able to identify the suspect as 20-year-old Elijah Sanchez of Sacramento.
Sanchez was located in El Dorado County on Tuesday and booked into jail on robbery and vehicle theft-related charges, police said. He's being held in jail without bail.
