5 Teens Injured In Flash Explosion On Folsom Lake
FOLSOM (CBS13) - Five teens had to be taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after an incident involving a flash explosion at Folsom Lake.
The incident happened at Browns Marina on the lake.
"All of a sudden we heard this big boom," said George Gevorgyan, who was at the marina with his family when the explosion happened.
California State Parks representatives say the five teens were burned and had to be transported to a local hospital. The teens suffered injuries ranging from second to third-degree burns.
All of the teens are expected to survive.
Investigators say the boat operator had just fueled the craft. When the engine was started, gas fumes and the ignition appeared to have caused the fire.
