Reservoir Flyover Shows Continued Effects Of California's Drought
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A new video posted Wednesday highlights the state's continued state of drought.
Folsom Lake, Lake Oroville and Lake Shasta were all photographed from the sky back on July 20. The video was put together by the California Department of Water Resources and posted then posted to Youtube.
Glaringly present is the amount of exposed brown shores on the banks of each reservoir.
Recent rains that hit Southern California and the mountains have done little to help the extreme drought, according to numbers released by the U.S. Drought Monitor Thursday.
More than half the state, including all of the Central Valley, remains in "extreme" to "exceptional drought" conditions.
A predicted El Niño event is garnering hope that California's dry spell will end come winter.
