Flash Flood Watch Issued Due To Potential Levee Failure In Lake County
LAKE COUNTY (CBS13) – The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch and is warning of a potential levee failure on the north side of Clear Lake in Lake County.
Witnesses reported a leak in the levee on the east bank of Middle Creek near the diversion channel.
State and local officials at the scene say there is minimal concern and that the leak is very minor. Crews are sandbagging the area where water is leaking out.
There are about 20 homes in the area and all homeowners have been notified.
The area that could flood is between Middle Creek and Page Creek north of the diversion channel and south of Bloody Island Road.
