Flame Rips Through Home In Downtown Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - People living in a downtown Sacramento home are out in the cold Tuesday after a large fire damaged the structure overnight.
The fire happened at 22nd and P Streets, and required several firefighters who were mopping up hotspots on Tuesday morning.
The fire began in a room on the second floor and spread to the attic, say investigators. It also burned the ceiling of the first floor.
Officials say several firefighters were called out to help quickly douse the flames. Crews feared the flames would quickly spread in the old home due to its lack of fire-resistant drywall.
Some of the residents were at the home Tuesday trying to get their items out. Fortunately, no one was in the home at the time.
Investigators are trying to determine the exact cause of the fire.
