Firefighters Uncover Illegal Marijuana Grow Inside Vacaville Home
VACAVILLE (CBS13) - Vacaville police are investigating a marijuana grow house that went up in flames overnight.
The fire happened at around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at a manufactured home on Walnut Road, just off the Leisure Town Road exit from Interstate 80.
After they extinguished the flames, firefighters discovered hundreds of marijuana plants and power sources used to grow them inside the home.
"I believe they removed over 200 plants from the home and a lot of equipment consistent with an indoor grow operation," said Vacaville Police Dept. Sgt. Adam Senf.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but police believe it could have been caused by the large amount of equipment inside the house.
The current residents at the home are renters.
