Fire Guts South Sacramento Restaurant J.J.'s Fish And Chicken
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Traffic is moving again on Fruitridge Road Tuesday morning after several fire trucks blocked the road to battle a fire at a restaurant.
Crews were called to the scene just after 4 a.m. and found a fire in the back storage room of the J.J.'s Fish And Chicken near Mendocino Boulevard. It is unclear how the fire started.
Firefighters were hoping the fire would stay contained to the room, but flames eventually spread and badly burned the inside of the restaurant. The outside of the restaurant escaped major damage.
The restaurant is expected to be closed for some time.
Investigators do not believe the fire is suspicious as the place was tightly locked up when crews arrived.
