Two-Alarm Fire Sparks Small Explosions In Citrus Heights

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) – Fire fighters now say everyone is accounted for at a two-alarm fire that tore through a Citrus Heights home setting off some small explosions.

Several neighbors called in to report the fire burning at a home on Glen Canyon Court before 6:30 a.m.

Fire fighters were originally told three children may have been inside the home and immediately searched the burning structure.  They found no one inside and have accounted for all the people who live in the home.

The fire also set off what fire fighters originally said was a large amount of ammunition located in the back of the home.  A Sheriff's deputy on scene even said it looked like a war zone.  However, the home owners say they did not store ammunition.  Fire investigators are trying to determine exactly what was exploding.

They are also trying to determine what started the fire.
