Firefighters were called to a home at 136 Gentry Circle in Vacaville around 10:45 a.m.
When firefighters first arrived, they found smoke pouring from a second-story window.
Firefighters immediately searched the home and found the woman, Bobbie Mitchell, in the master bedroom in the home.
She was carried out and CPR was performed, but Mitchell was pronounced dead. One of the family dogs was also found dead in the bedroom. A second dog was rescued by firefighters.
