Fire Fighters Battling Two-Alarm Apartment Fire In West Sacramento
WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – West Sacramento fire fighters put out a call for help in battling a two-alarm fire at a West Sacramento apartment complex early Wednesday morning.
Fire fighters were called out to the two-story apartment complex just after 5:30 this morning at 2112 Evergreen Avenue in West Sacramento.
When they arrived, they found a unit on the second floor fully involved in flames. Fire crews called a second alarm when the fire began spreading to other apartment units.
The entire building was evacuated as fire fighters feared the fire may enter the attic space and spread throughout the entire building.
CBS13's Nick Janes spoke with the man who lives in the apartment unit where the blaze started. He says he and his wife were asleep when his mother woke them up saying the apartment was on fire. He says he has no idea what sparked the blaze.
Fire fighters are now checking the building for hot spots and trying to determine the cause of the fire.
There are no reports of injuries.
