Fire Destroys Truck Loaded With Supplies Headed To Pet Store, Fish Survive

COLFAX (CBS13) – A truckload of supplies headed to a pet store went up in flames this morning on Interstate 80 in Placer County.

The big rig caught fire on westbound I-80 at Secret Town Road in Colfax early this morning.

The right lane and offramp were blocked for hours as crews had to clean up the charred mess.

Most of the supplies in the truck were a total loss, however, live fish being transported were saved from the flames.

CHP says the blaze started as a tire fire and spread to the rest of the truck.
