Fire Destroys Elk Grove Home; Four Kittens Rescued
ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Fire fighters were able to rescue four kittens from an Elk Grove home that went up in flames overnight.
Flames started shooting from the roof of the home on Emerald Vista Drive near Bond Road.
One woman inside the home was able to get out safely.
However, the family pets were trapped inside. Fire fighters were able to rescue four kittens even providing oxygen to one. However, two adult cats did not survive.
Fire crews say the home is a total loss due to the amount of smoke damage.
Investigators believe the fire started in the bedroom, but are looking into the exact cause.
