Fifth Suspect Arrested In Sacramento County Murder Case

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) -- A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection with a homicide last month in north Sacramento County.

Aubry Toews, 21, was taken into custody around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at a residence in Sacramento County and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of murder, burglary and attempted robbery. She is being held without bail.

Sheriff's deputies responded to calls of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Manzanita Avenue on July 29 at about 12:15 a.m. Deputies found Michael Sanderson, 54, inside an apartment with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Sanderson was transported to a hospital and died of his injuries a short time later.

Detectives have arrested four others in connection to this incident. Patrick McPherson, 25, and Travis Mabson, 31, were arrested on Aug. 2. Patrick Godines, 26, was arrested a day later, and Jeanette Campbell, 23, was arrested Aug. 18. All remain in custody and are ineligible for bail.

Detectives believe all responsible for this crime are now in custody. They have not released a motive for the shooting.
