Father's Day Spending Predicted To Increase
(CBS13) -- Father's Day is making a comeback.
The National Retail Federation says that this year people celebrating Father's Day will spend an average of $106 on the big guy -- up about $12 from 2010.
It's the most people have spent on the day in eight years.
According to the survey, more people plan to take dad on a special outing. Consumers plan to spend $2.1 billion on activities like golfing, eating out or going to the movies. Dads will also receive $1.4 billion in gift cards, $653 million in sporting goods and $593 in automotive accessories.
The federation says that Mother's Day is still a bigger retail event. People spend about $140 on Mother's Day gifts.
