Father Of Wandering Toddler Found; Incident Being Investigated

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. -- Sacramento sheriff's deputies said they have found the father of a little girl who was found wandering a Rancho Cordova street Monday morning.

The 2 1/2 year-old girl was found around 10 a.m. in the 2700 block of Riesling Way wearing just pajamas.

Deputies patrolled the streets and used a bullhorn to try and find the girl's parents.

After more than two hours, the girl's father emerged from a home saying that he had fallen asleep on the couch.

The curly-headed girl was taken into protective custody while the incident is being investigated.
