Father Arrested For Leaving Baby Home Alone To Commit A Crime

TURLOCK (CBS13) --  A father has been arrested after cops say he left his three-month-old baby home alone to commit a crime, twice.

Turlock Police say Victor Valsquez, 20, left his three-month-old child on the couch and went next door to his neighbor's home and stole some valuables.

He then came home for about an hour or two, went next door again, and allegedly stole some more items.

But, when the victim came home, he saw Valsquez leaving his backyard with some of his personal items.  Apparently, the suspect dropped the goods, fled, and returned to his home around 45 minutes later where the authorities were waiting for him.

Valzquez has been charged with burglary and child abandonment charges.

Police say that the baby was on the couch the whole time and was fine.  The child is now with its mother who did nothing wrong; she was grocery shopping at the time of the crime.
