Elk Grove Teen Accused Of Killing His Father With An Ax
ELK GROVE (CBS13) -- Police say an Elk Grove man is dead and his teenage son is facing charges after the teen allegedly used an ax to kill his father.
Officers responded to a call in the 9500 block of Emerald Park Drive at about 7:47 p.m. and found 44-year-old Darrell DeWitt dead. DeWitt's 19-year-old son, also named Darrell, was also found with stab wounds to his upper torso.
The younger DeWitt was taken to Kaiser with what detectives describe as superficial injuries, where his condition was described as non-life-threatening. They also believe his wounds were self-inflicted. When his condition improves, he'll be booked into the Sacramento County Jail on the murder charge, according to police.
