Fatal Accident Clogs Westbound Highway 50 Near Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A fatal crash on westbound Highway 50 caused a massive backup before noon on Wednesday, according to CHP.

The accident happened just before 10 a.m. in West Sacramento near Harbor Blvd.   CHP says a driver slammed into a construction truck and hurt a worker. 

The victim who died is a woman in her 60's. CHP says witnesses report that she had been driving erratically before the accident.

The construction worker has severe injuries.  He is a 41-year-old man who contracted to work with Caltrans.

The exact cause of the crash is still being investigated.
