Family Holds Vigil For Missing Nursing Student
HAYWARD, Calif. (AP) -- The family of a missing Northern California nursing student is praising efforts of authorities to find her and remains hopeful that she will return safely.
Relatives and friends of 26-year-old Michelle Le gathered Friday evening for a vigil in Hayward at the site where her car was found not far from the hospital parking lot where she was last seen.
Le disappeared during a break at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, where she was shadowing workers as part of a nursing class. Police say she told colleagues she was going to get something from her car but never returned.
Le's cousin Krystine Dinh said the missing woman found her calling as a nurse after her mother died from breast cancer.
The family is offering a $40,000 reward for her safe return.
