Explosive Substance Removed From Del Paso Heights Home
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- A bomb squad removed a bucket with a suspicious powder from a Del Paso Heights home on Friday, causing a brief evacuation of nearby homes.
The incident began about 9 a.m. when Sacramento police were searching for a man in his 40s on an unrelated crime when they found the bucket in the back of a house on Altos Avenue near South Avenue.
The bomb squad was called in and officers felt the substance was sufficient for bomb-making, according to police. The evacuation was lifted by 3 p.m.
A man was taken into custody on the unrelated charge.
