Elk Grove Police Arrest Suspected "Red Glove" Bandit
ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Elk Grove Police have arrested a woman suspected of two recent robberies in Elk Grove.
Police took 34-year-old Michelle Cooper into custody on Wednesday night after releasing surveillance photos taken during one of the attempted robberies.
Cooper is suspected of robbing a Subway sandwich shop on Saturday by handing an employee a note indicating she was armed and wanted money. She was seen driving out of the parking lot in a silver Volkswagen.
Police also believe Cooper is the same woman who attempted to rob a Safeway in the same manner. The suspect gave a customer service employee a note demanding money and indicating she was armed. The employee left the area to show a note to their supervisor, and at that time, the suspect left.
Cooper has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
