Several People Injured In Multi-Vehicle Elk Grove Crash

ELK GROVE (CBS13) - Several people were injured Sunday in a crash in Elk Grove that involved four cars.

The crash happened at Laguna Boulevard and Dwight Road, according to a Cosumnes Fire Department statement.

Four vehicles were involved in the crash around 1:20 p.m. that was caused when a car drove over the center median and into oncoming traffic. That vehicle then hit a vehicle, which hit another vehicle, then rolled over and crashed into one last vehicle, according to Elk Grove Police.

In total, five people were injured. One person was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. Three others were also hospitalized with serious injuries. A fifth person declined an ambulance.

Elk Grove police are investigating the crash. They estimate the roadway will remain closed at least until 6 p.m.
