Elderly woman killed in Folsom house fire
FOLSOM — A woman was killed in a house fire in Folsom, firefighters said.
The fire started around 2 a.m. Friday inside a home on Briarcliff Drive near Fargo Way.
According to the first responders at the scene, they found an elderly woman inside the burning home. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Officials said the fire appears to have started in the living room, but the cause is still under investigation.
The woman's identity has not been released.
