Elderly Man Beaten In Morning Robbery
CARMICHAEL, Calif. (CBS13) -- An elderly man is recovering after suffering a beating during an early morning robbery Saturday.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says two masked men pried open the back door of the victim's home on the 3000 block of Root Avenue at about 1:30 a.m., ransacking the home for cash and electronics before attacking the homeowner.
"The victim's kind of a tough old guy, had some lacerations, buising, other medical issues," said Sgt. Chris Guerrero.
Authorities tried to track the suspects using K-9 units, but lost the culprits' trail.
The victim is expected to recover.
