El Dorado Supervisor Chair Reiterates Plans To Investigate Nutting
EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) — The chairman of the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors reiterated his stance on investigating a fellow board member after seeing a CBS13 investigation.
The investigation showed Supervisor Ray Nutting pocketed $70,000 to trim trees and clear brush on his rural property.
"I didn't think it was proper for somebody to say, 'I took public money and I'm going to take future public monies.' I was concerned that the integrity of the board might be compromise somewhere in the future," said board chairman Ron Briggs, reacting to the investigation.

CBS13 has confirmed the district attorney's office is examining potential violations of fraud, perjury, and conflict of interest statutes on forms Nutting submitted for reimbursement.
While Briggs says he's not convinced Nutting's done anything illegal, he still believes the people deserve answers.
"I want the public to be assured that we are not going to wash this under the rug. If there is some misdoing by anyone, we are going to address them. We are going to address them swiftly.
