Eight Bank Heists Linked To Snowboarder Bandit
LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (AP) — Investigators say a bank robber dubbed the Snowboarder Bandit is believed to be responsible for eight Southern California heists.
Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino says the latest robbery occurred Tuesday afternoon at a Laguna Niguel branch of Chase Bank.
Investigators have nicknamed him the Snowboarder Bandit because he often wears a knit hat, has a youthful appearance, is unshaven and wears snowboarding clothes.
City News Service says the same man, estimated to be about 25 years old, is believed responsible for seven other stickups that began Dec. 20 in Orange County.
