Crews Extinguish Scrap Metal Yard Fire In Downtown Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Firefighters battled a blaze at a downtown Sacramento recycling facility on Monday.

The scene was in the Sims Metal recycling yard along the 100 block of 12th Street.

As of approximately 3:30 p.m., the fire department said the flames were fully extinguished and crews were beginning to clear out.

No injuries have been reported, firefighters say.

Exactly what started the fire is unclear.
