Double-Initial Killing Suspect Acting As Own Lawyer
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (AP) -- A man charged with killing four Northern California women who had matching first and last initials is again acting as his own attorney.
A Marin County judge on Friday granted Joseph Naso's motion to defend himself. The motion came just weeks after Naso said he needed help with the case and was appointed a public defender at his own expense.
A preliminary hearing is now set for January.
Naso is charged with the murders of the four women -- Carmen Colon, Roxene Roggasch, Pamela Parsons and Tracy Tafoya -- between 1977 and 1994. He has pleaded not guilty in what could be a death penalty case.
