Donald Trump Connects Fallen Sacramento-Area Deputies To Immigration Plan
PHOENIX (CBS13) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump invoked the names of two Sacramento-area deputies who were shot to death as he laid out his immigration plan on Wednesday.
Sacramento County Sheriff's deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Sheriff's Det. Michael Davis were shot and killed in the line of duty during a two-county crime spree in 2014. Investigators say Oliver, a community service officer, approached a vehicle at a Motel 6 in Sacramento when the suspect, Luis Enrique Monroy Bracamontes, opened fire, killing the deputy at the scene. During the ensuing pursuit and crime spree, investigators say Bracamontes also killed Davis.

In the days following the violence, it was revealed Bracamontes had been previously deported.
If he's elected, Trump says he plans to name a piece of legislation after Davis and Oliver to "enhance cooperation with state and local authorities to ensure that criminals and terrorists are swiftly—really swiftly—identified and removed."
