Man arrested on warrant in Carmichael after initial report of domestic violence incident
CARMICHAEL - A man initially suspected of domestic violence in Carmichael was taken into custody on unrelated charges.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, at around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, deputies received reports of a potential domestic violence incident at an apartment complex located in the area of Locust Lane and Hackberry Avenue in Carmichael.
Deputies arrived at the scene and learned that a male suspect had barricaded himself inside an apartment unit and refused to come out, they say. Both the male and female were determined to be responsive and cooperative. However, the victims later recanted their statements and didn't want to come out.
Although the male suspect was no longer facing domestic violence charges, he was wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for resisting arrest and was subsequently taken into custody.
Surrounding apartments were evacuated during the incident as a precaution.
