Divers Search For Missing Girl At Central Calif. Lake

PASO ROBLES, Calif. (AP) -- An underwater search team is looking for a 4-year-old girl missing at Nacimiento Lake in San Luis Obispo County.

Sheriff's deputies closed the beach at the resort north of Paso Robles where the girl was reported missing shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday.

Sheriff's spokesman Rob Bryn says members of the department's Underwater Search and Recovery Dive Team along with volunteers are walking through shallow water looking for the girl and will move on to a full dive if they don't find her.

Bryn tells the San Luis Obispo Tribune that a California Highway Patrol Helicopter searched briefly but was called off.

The girl's name has not been released and the circumstances of her disappearance were not immediately clear.
