Deputies Trying To ID Woman Passing Fake $100 Bills In Placer County

PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) – The Placer County Sheriff's Department is seeking help in identifying a woman who has been passing off counterfeit money throughout the county.

The woman has been caught on surveillance cameras at several different businesses passing the bogus $100 bills.

The Sheriff's Department says the bills look real and have the stripe printed on them so that when a clerk holds it up to a light source, the stripe and watermarks show up.

However, the back of the bill has the stripe and watermark clearly printed on it.

Anyone who knows this woman is asked to contact Detective Jim Hudson at (530) 889-7855. Or you can contact Placer County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-923-8191 or go to their Web site at www.placercrimestoppers.com.
