Deputies Raid Rio Linda Cockfight
RIO LINDA, Calif. (CBS13) -- Deputies are searching for suspects who participated in a cockfighting event raided by authorities Saturday.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said they received a tip of a cockfight in progress on the 1500 block of Q Street on Saturday afternoon.
When deputies arrived, a number of subjects fled, leaving behind the carcasses of several dead roosters.
At least 15 people were detained and cited in connection with the case. The owners of the property are denying any involvement in the incident.
