Deputies Raid Half-Acre Marijuana Grow In Rio Linda
RIO LINDA (CBS13) - The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department made a major marijuana grow bust early Wednesday morning in Rio Linda.
Deputies found a half acre of plants, with many as tall as 8 to 10 feet.
The bust happened on U Street, near the Dry Creek bikeway. Investigators say the residents claim it's for personal medical use.
"People have prescriptions from doctors, and sometimes inordinate, ridiculous amounts of plants that they can allegedly have, or amounts of processed marijuana," said Sacramento County sheriff Sgt. Jason Ramos. "So, we are trying to reconcile those prescriptions versus what we have out there, and determine if any enforcement action can be taken."
The property sits next to another residence raided a few hours earlier.
No arrests have been reported at this time.
