Deputies Investigating Home Invasion In Merced County
STEVINSON, Calif. (CBS13) – Merced County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a home invasion robbery where a six-year-old girl was dragged by her hair, a teenage girl was punched in the face and shots were fired.
Deputies say the attack happened late Tuesday evening at about 11:30 on the 19,000 block of First Avenue in Stevinson.
The victims tells investigators three to five suspects kicked in the back door of the home and attacked them demanding money. At least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun.
The suspects first entered a room where a six-year-old girl and 15-year-old girl were sleeping. The younger girl was dragged by her hair out of bed. The teen was punched in the face by the suspects.
The suspects then ended up in the father's room. The father tried to fight off the suspects. He ended up with injuries to his head.
Another occupant in the house heard the fight and jumped out of a window with his cell phone. The suspects then entered the room and fired shots out the open window.
They then left the home in a car and fired more shots.
No one was hit by gunfire.
Deputies say the only description they have of the suspects at this time is that they were all wearing dark clothing and ski masks.
