Department Of Water Resources Prepares For More Rain And Local Flooding
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Employees with the Department of California Water Resources are calling this storm the region's biggest in the last six years.
The flood control center in Sacramento is preparing for a stronger series of rain and local flooding.
"We were planning on three, now there are four storms. And they've built through this past week getting stronger and more intense," said operations manager Bill Croyle.
Croyle says the dynamic series of storms will keep this team of engineers and analysts busy for the next few days.
"We're seeing the highest flows in Northern California in the last five, six years," said Croyle.
While keeping a close eye on the storm systems, the team here in Sacramento can also find stream and river basin flooding and alert the local media and public.
Croyle says while we can't control the elements Mother Nature brings, we can certainly put together a flood plan.
"That's food and water. Be prepared for the power to go out for some extended amount of time. Have fuel in your car," said Croyle.
