DeMarcus Cousins: 'I Don't Really Understand It, But I Do My Job'
While at USA Basketball practice getting ready for the 2016 Summer Olympics, DeMarcus Cousins sat down with the media and weighed in on what he thought of the Sacramento Kings offseason moves.
On the video posted from ABC10, Cousins made it clear that he hasn't talked to management about the direction of the team, but he's going to continue to play hard on the court.
"I do my job. I can't control that. I control what I can control," Cousins said.
On draft night, the Kings picked two centers. At the time, Cousins didn't seem too happy about it, expressing on Twitter: "Lord, give me strength."
When asked about the addition of the two big men, Cousins said he doesn't understand the moves by management, but he let's them do their job, and he will do his.
Although he doesn't understand the additions of Georgios Papagiannis and Skal Labissiere, Cousins did admit that Skal looked very impressive in Summer League.
As for the veteran pieces the Kings brought in during free agency, Cousins is looking forward to playing with them.
"I think they're good veteran additions," Cousins said. "Each guy knows how to play and they bring something I believe the team is missing, like a defensive tenacity."
One of those veteran players who will bring a defensive tenacity is Matt Barnes.
Around the league, Barnes has been known to have a great locker room presence, but he's not the type of player who is going to make friends with the opposing team.
"I'm ready to go to war with him," Cousins said.
