Day 9 In Search For Missing Patterson Boy
PATTERSON (CBS13) - It is Day 9 in the search for a missing Patterson boy snatched from the arms of his grandmother last week.
Authorities suspended their search of the Delta-Mendota Canal in Patterson for the car that's connected to the abduction of 4-year-old Juliani Cardenas for today, but the Stanislaus County Sheriff's department says searchers will be back out at the canal Friday morning.
Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Raj Singh says all evidence points to the car being in the canal.
Deputies have been using sonar equipment in the canal to detect items and so far, crews have recovered 11 cars from the water but none connected to the kidnapping.
Detectives are also looking at a receipt from the store where suspect, Jose Rodriguez, bought his car tires. They are comparing the treads on the type of tires he purchased to tracks around the canal.
Jose Rodriguez was last seen driving a 2003 light silver Toyota Corolla with oversized aluminum wheels.
