Davis Apartments Targeted In Crime Wave

DAVIS, Calif. (CBS13) -- Residents are taking added precautions in response to a series of burglaries that has resulted in thefts at more than a dozen apartments in just a few weeks.

The Davis Police Department said the suspects have burglarized at least 16 homes in West Davis within the past month, typically by walking into unlocked homes and stealing electronics and other valuables.

One of the victims, Agnes Oshiro, said she and her three friends were sleeping when thieves walked into their apartment two weeks ago. The suspects escaped with $1,300 of goods, including Oshiro's laptop computer.

"It was kinda creepy, cause someone had to be watching us go to bed," she said.

Police said the suspects have hit some of the same apartment complexes more than once.

The suspects are described as a white adult male and an Asian adult male, both about 20 years old and riding bikes.
