Crews Back At Canal In Search For Missing Boy
PATTERSON, Calif. (AP) -- Crews are back at a central California canal to search for a car possibly linked to a kidnapped 4-year-old boy.
Authorities say none of the 10 vehicles recovered after a week of combing the canal outside Patterson is the silver 2003 Toyota Corolla sought in connection with the kidnapping of Juliani Cardenas.
Stanislaus County Sheriff's Deputy Royjindar Singh says the strongest lead remains a tip about a vehicle entering the canal that fit the description of the one used in the abduction .
Juliani was last seen Jan. 18 when his mother's ex-boyfriend, Jose Rodriguez, allegedly snatched him from his grandmother's arms at a Patterson home.
Juliani's mother, Tabitha Cardenas, said at a vigil Tuesday that she is still holding out hope that her son will be found alive.
