Crabtree Says He 'Couldn't See' At The End Of Super Bowl XLVII
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) — Former San Francisco 49er's wide receiver Michael Crabtree said that he felt like he couldn't see after a hit on one of the last plays of this year's Super Bowl.
Crabtree appeared on The Rich Eisen Podcast for NFL Network on Thursday and in the interview said that a hit from Jimmy Smith on the second to last play left him unable to see. "The play before the last play, when the guy hit me, hit me all in the face, but you know I'm not tripping, I'm not the one to whine about nothing, he hit me all in the face and I really couldn't see," Crabtree told Eisen. "Man you gonna feel it, you gonna feel like you can't see, it don't feel intense. But it snapped back, it happens all the time in football."
Crabtree was then asked again about the last couple plays and he reiterated the feeling. "The second play I got hit, the dude hit me, I couldn't see," he said. "But I come right back, I'm ready, soldier in the game, play football, I love this game."
The receiver went on to say that he didn't have a problem with the no call on fourth down. San Francisco lost 34-31 after a last ditch fade route fell incomplete just out of the reach of Crabtree. The wide-out had 85 receptions en route to his first 1,000 yard season of his career this season.
