Corrections Officer Arrested For Robbery
LODI, Calif. (CBS13) -- A corrections officer at San Quentin State Prison has been arrested for allegedly robbing a pharmacy for prescription drugs, authorities said.
The Lodi Police Department said 26-year-old Daniel Duffy walked into the Rite Aid on the 500 block of West Lodi Avenue late Tuesday afternoon and demanded Oxycontin from the pharmacist, claiming he had a gun.
Even though the suspect was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses, the pharmacist recognized Duffy and reported him to police once he left the store, according to investigators.
Police officers took Duffy into custody at his home without incident and recovered the 200 stolen pills.
Duffy was booked on robbery charges.
